Change the live of the Mudada community
South of Maputo in the community of Mudada, district of Matutuine, Men and Women work daily with cattle, agricultural production, poultry, handicrafts and at the small school where they prepare the little ones for primary education.
These people travel on foot to the Farm, walking several kilometers from their homes located in the poor communities of the Bela Vista area.
Most of them live in houses with no energy or water and in addition to that they have to do a two-hour walk commute to work. They travel long distances daily to collect water for food, hygiene and firewood for cooking and still have their machambas (small agriculture plots) to care for, before and after the walk to / from work, which reduces production capacity due to fatigue. Some of them even had to drop out of school because its to distant and transportation costs are high.
This campaign will provide bicycles for 24 of these workers and will help them to have a better quality of life by allowing them to move more easily and quickly. Going to the fields, health centers or school will be much simpler tasks to accomplish.
These bicycles were donated by the McHugh Family of Ireland and will be distributed in March 2018 in Mudada.
