Michangulene is located in Changalene Administrative Post in Maputo Province. It has over two thousand inhabitants divided into two neighborhoods, Michangulene Sede and Mafavuca, and in these neighborhoods there is no electric current because the houses are far from the road where there is the source for the electric current.
The school is also far from the neighborhoods where the majority of the population resides because it is a scattered community where the main source of livelihood is agriculture.
Lack of transportation has been a major challenge for students at this administrative post. To get to school, they have to travel long distances, making it difficult for them to take advantage of the fact that they are already tired.
This project will cover students at Muchangulene Complete Primary School, located at the Changalane Administrative Post, where they study about 298 children.
With this campaign, it is intended to raise 25 bicycles, which will benefit students over 12 years old, who walk about 10km a day to access education. It is also intended to encourage beneficiaries not to drop out of school. By facilitating their access to school, we are somehow avoiding the problem of premature marriages.
A bicycle will be an important tool to reduce especially the time it takes to walk to school and it can help your families with their machamba trips.
