Miéze is a rural town located in northeastern Mozambique, in Cabo Delgado province. According to data from the last population census, the town has 82,133 inhabitants, who mostly live on subsistence agriculture. In April this year, the northern region of Mozambique was hit by a devastating climate change, Cyclone Tropical Kenneth. Kenneth tropical cyclone is category 4 on a scale of 0 to 5, considered the second most severe echelon, reaching winds of up to 225 km / h.
Miéze Secondary School teaches from 8th to 10th grade, has 260 students, of which 60% are female and 40% male. This school is one of the few infrastructures in this administrative post that the cyclone's passage did not cause notable damage. But most of the students who study there have had their homes and agricultural crops destroyed as a result of the passing of this climate phenomenon. Convinced that a bicycle can change lives, this campaign aims to raise 60 bicycles for Miéze High School students who travel long distances on foot to access basic services such as education, so we will help you cycle for a better future.
