Trainers walk more than 2 hours a day to teach
Mozarte (Youth Craft Center) is a space for all people deprived of a job opportunity to have access to free training so they can learn technical and professional skills of all types of Handicraft. The Institution aims give tools to the youngsters so they can, by themselves, fight poverty and have a better life.
Mozarte has the support of teachers who help in the training of these young students, so they can have an easier way to find a Job, with their new skill sets. Many of them live in rural areas and Mozarte is in the center of the city so a lot of them they face great difficulties get to the Center or to work, since the cost of transportation is quite high so quite often they have to walk long distances which reduces your productivity and takes a long time.
Many of them, in addition to the work they perform at Mozarte, devote their time and knowledge to community empowerment activities, agriculture and their academic training. A transport would be a fantastic tool for them to have a easier way to perform all these activities and seek for a better quality of life.
This campaign will provide bikes for 3 teachers, who walk more than 2 hours a day, every day. A bicycle will not only drastically change their lives and reduce the time they spend traveling to work, school or machambas but will also be an added value to the community where they live.
These bikes were donated by students from the University of Cape Town and were distributed in March 2018 at Mozarte.
